Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100
Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 uses Lab-on-a-chip technology to replace the classical gel electrophoresis for nucleic acids or SDS-PAGE for proteins due to the automatization process. This translates into reduced sample volumes, shorter preparation and analysis time and better results. Nucleic acid and protein qualitative measurements using Agilent Bioanalizer brings up information about the quality of DNA (cDNA) RNA (tRNA, mRNA, miRNA) and proteins. Bioanalyzer 2100 is especially useful for determining the RNA integrity based on an specific algorithm that provide a RIN number (RNA Integrity Number) with values between 1 and 10, where 1 is specific for a degraded RNA and 10 represent an intact RNA

Advantages:
-Short preparation time - about 30 minutes per 12 samples;
-Small input amount of nucleic acid - 1µl per sample;
-High detection rate, even for very small concentration of input samples;
-The possibility to choose between nano or pico chips, depending on the amount of starting material;
- Detailed information about RNA integrity, included in a high resolution electropherogram and a gel-like image.

NanoDrop1000
NanoDrop ND-1000 spectrophotometer measures small amounts of nucleic acids or protein samples without the need for dilutions or cumbersome cuvettes. The measurement concentration range is between 2-3700ng/µl for dsDNA, 2-2400 ng/µl for ssDNA and 2-3000 ng/µl for RNA, which means that, no preliminary dilution of the samples is needed, that could lead to error measurements. Moreover, it is possible to accurately measure fluorescent-dye nucleic acid concentrations (microarray probes) from 0.12 up to 100 pmols/ µl without dilution.

The input start sample is only 1,5 µl and no specific reagents are needed for the measurement. The data are presented as a spectrum with specific values for 230, 260 and 280 nm as well as for 260/280 and 260/230 ratio. The concentration is directly presented in ng/µl.

Qubit Fluorimeter 3.0
The Qubit 3.0 represent the newest generation of fluorometers that can measure with a high accuracy nucleic acids such as DNA, RNA, miRNA as well as proteins, by fluorometry, which is more sensitive to small concentrations than UV-absorbance. Qubit flourometer uses small amounts of samples (1-10µl of input sample) and returns the concentration in less than 5 seconds per sample. The Qubit 3.0 is ideal accurate measurement of a specific nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) in a contaminated sample with both species of these nucleic acids or even with degraded material.

Agilent DNA Microarray Scanner with SureSCan High-Resolution Technology
Agilent DNA microarray Scanner with SureSCan High-Resolution Technology provide state-of-the-art technology for microarray applications, including mRNA and miRNA gene expression profiling, array CGH, ChiP-on chip interactions and methylation assays. With an extended dynamic range (XDR) of up to 20 times than other leading scanner and a range of resolution from 2 to 10 microns this scanner can be used to scan a large types of commercially or customized slides (1M, 2x400k, 4x44k, 4x180k, 8x60K, etc) used for genomics analysis. This scanner has the possibility to simultaneously measure the fluorescence of two fluorochromes (Cy3, Cy5) at 2 micron resolution in less than 20 minutes.

Light Cycler 480 and Light Cycler 2.0
Our lab has the possibility to perform Real-Time PCR analysis in two formats: capillary (Roche 2.0 RT-PCR machine) and 96-well plates (Roche- Light Cycler 480 II machine). Depending on the end point of the analysis, several detection formats can be approached: SYBR Green detection is usually used for sequence independent assays, while single-labeled, hybridization or hydrolysis probes are used for sequence specific probe binding assays.

Eppendorf Concentrator plus
Ependorf concentrator plus is a pump vacuum concentrator which combine 3 operation modes (vacuum concentrator, centrifuge and desiccator) used for a variety of application such as efficient and gently concentration of DNA, RNA, nucleotides, proteins and other liquids or wet samples. To increase the efficiency of concentration, four heating lvels (ambient, 300C, 450C and 600C) can be set.

Thermo Scinetific 8830 Ultra-low freezer (-860C)
Ultra-low freezer 88300 series from Termo Scientific represents a new class of ultra-low freezers with high reability and superior performance,, including advanced technology for maximum temperature recovery. This system is equipped with permanent temperature monitoring and a back-up system with CO2, to maximum protects the stored samples.

Cell culture area
Our lab has a designated sterile cell culture area, which includes a class II laminar hood, an CO2 incubator and inversed-phase microscope allowing for multiple and variate cell cultures growth and in vitro assays.
