The Laboratories

1. Medical Imaging


Is situated on the ground floor of the Institute, on the hall that continues from the entrance on Ion Creanga street.

The department is equipped with:
  • MRI SIEMENS 1,5 tesla
  • Computer tomograph GE OPTIMA 64 slice
  • SIEMENS for digital radiographic investigations 
  • PHILIPS for digital fluoroscopic investigations
  • Ultrasound 
  • Ultrasound with classic transducer 
  • Ultrasound with soft tissue transducer (including mammary)
  • Mammography digital investigation equipment 
  • PACS

Investigation possibilities:

Imaging examinations with magnetic resonnance
  • CAT scan for different anatomical segments
  • Digital radiography, tomosynthesis included
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Digital mammography
  • Abdominal – pelvic, soft tissue, special (interventional), mammary ecography


The schedule is from Monday to Friday, between 7.30 a.m. and 13.30 p.m.
 

2. Nuclear Medicine


The entrance in the department is through the first door to the right from the entrance hall. The department is equipped with:

Thyroid scintigraphy with I-131 or with Tc-99m (with or without uptake determination)
Parathyroid planar scintigraphy , SPECT, SPECT/CT
Planar lymphoscintigraphy , SPECT, SPECT/CT
Planar bone scintigraphy , SPECT, SPECT/CT, în trei faze
Kidney scintigraphy 
Planar lung scintigraphy, SPECT, SPECT/CT
Planar liver scintigraphy, SPECT, SPECT/CT
Myocardium scintigraphy 
Scintigraphy for emphasizing neuroendocrin tumours which express somatostatin receptors

Treatment:

with Iodine 131 I-131 in thyroid malignant and benign conditions
Strontium Sr 89 treatment in pain palliation caused by bone secondary determination in different neoplasias

* the program is Monday to Friday, between 7.30 a.m. and 13.30 p.m.

  The Department is integrated in the European network Endo-ERN.

 

3. External Radiotherapy and Brachytherapy


Is situated on the ground floor of the Institute, as follows:

a) Brachytherapy

The first big hall to the right, from the main hall (Medical Imaging).

The platform includes:
* 1 brachytherapy equipment, HDR capacity
* consultation rooms
* application rooms

The consultation schedule is between 08.00 a.m. and 13.30 p.m.

b) External Radiotherapy

Access to the department is made through the radiotherapy laboratory, the first door to the left, where you will find a big waiting room with a bas-relief on the front wall and a door in the middle that gives access to the radiotherapy equipment.

The first equipment is the Cobalt (Theratron 100) and you can find it immediately after the main door, on the left. The consultation schedule is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Then, following a hall with a ramp, to the left you can find the linear accelerator, Siemens Primus. If you look forward, you should find a panel indicating the two directions.

In the same access room to the Siemens accelerator, you can find 3 consultation rooms where you may be seen by a doctor in ambulatory.
